Pat The Baker is delighted to launch a ground-breaking new partnership with the Women’s Gaelic Players Association to promote our new Be Healthy Wholemeal loaf.

The five-year deal is the first of its kind for a women in sport organisation in Ireland and the revenue share arrangement will see a percentage of all sales go towards the WGPA Player Development Programme. Players in every county squad are now supported off the pitch through services that the WGPA provides including; careers advice, scholarships, personal coaching, counselling and skills workshops, all of which helps players reach their potential in both their professional and personal lives.

The new Be Healthy Wholemeal loaf is 100% wholemeal, high in fibre and low in sugar and fat and has only 58 calories per slice. It is also fortified with 1.6g of Vitamin D which has a strong link to athletic performance, positively effecting the immune system and muscle function. Pat the Baker’s Be Healthy Wholemeal Loaf will carry WGPA branding and promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Declan Fitzpatrick, CEO of Pat the Baker, said; “We are delighted to be working alongside the WGPA. Their support of female athletes in Ireland is second to none and the work they undertake continues to promote and enhance the reputation of Ladies Gaelic Football and Camogie in Ireland. Our new Be Healthy Wholemeal loaf helps to promote and healthy and balanced diet that will benefit athletes and non-athletes alike. We are looking forward to the next five years and building our relationship with the WGPA and the promotion of women in sport in Ireland.”

Dr. Aoife Lane, Chair of WGPA commented; “We are thrilled to be working with Pat the Baker who, as a healthy Irish brand, are a perfect fit for the WGPA. We also commend them for their vision in leading the way in supporting female athletes; research time and again has shown that supporting women’s sport makes good business sense and we hope this innovation breaks the mould for other sponsors working with Irish sportswomen.”

She went on to say that; “Our partnership offers a very tangible way for individuals and communities to make a meaningful difference to the players who dedicate so much of their time to representing their counties with distinction. Choosing the Be Healthy Wholemeal loaf offers a feel-good change for players and anyone leading a healthy lifestyle.
