General Operator – Granard Co. Longford

Pat the Baker are currently recruiting for a number of full-time General Operatives in our Production, Packaging and Dispatch departments in our bakery located in Granard, Co. Longford.

Reporting to:  Shift Supervisor

Hours: You will work 39 hours per week, over a four shift changing cycle. Shifts include day, afternoon and night shifts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operations

• Understand all tasks and duties that are required to effectively operate within the shift. Acquire basic technical knowledge of plant equipment and understand basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Implement and adhere to any new operational procedures or systems within department and any new quality standards and documentation

Quality and Hygiene

• Monitor product quality and carry out all required in process quality checks.
• Liaise with the Quality department on integrity of quality systems.
• Maintain good work hygiene practices within the working environment.

Health and Safety

• Ensure your own work area is kept clean and tidy that no foreign objects are left in your work area that may pose a hazard to product or personnel safety
• Adhere to health and safety standards including regulatory requirements when conducting duties.
• Do not misuse any equipment that is provided for safety purposes.
• Report hazards and defects observed in the workplace
• Wear the full Company issued uniform. Must be clean, neat and tidy.
• Facemasks must be worn at all times.

Other

• You may be instructed to perform duties in other areas
• At all times carry out all operational aspects of job with regard to documented company policies, procedures and safety information.
• Avoid loss or damage to goods or property
• Participate in all company training and awareness programmes

Experience

• Experience in a similar role is advantageous

Personal Characteristics, Knowledge & Skills

• Good level of verbal and written English
• Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment.
• Team player with the ability to work co-operatively with others and maintain good working relationships. Good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
