Maintenance Technician – Granard, Co. Longford

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician based in Granard.

Whilst your core skill is mechanical or electrical candidates must be cross skilled, have hands on experience and a strong understanding of an automated environment. This is a key maintenance role and you must be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the bakery.

Principle Accountabilities will include:

· Carry out the maintenance of production process equipment, to include: planned preventative/scheduled/predictive maintenance tasks and to carry out equipment surveys

· Undertake Mechanical and Electrical trouble-shooting on the Bread production lines and equipment.

· Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled Bakery plant, handling and packaging equipment.

· Carry out detailed root cause analysis on breakdowns to implement corrective repairs

· Review planned preventative maintenance procedures to improve their quality and effectiveness

· Repairs to mechanical and control systems equipment including pneumatics and hydraulics.

· Support Production Team in achieving targets.

· Provide Shift cover as required

· To be observant & work off your own initiative when a fault is detected & to take action based on your best judgement on whether to effect immediate repair or not.

· To keep clean any areas in which you are working, including the workshop and stores

· Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

· Previous experience in FMCG / Food manufacturing would be an advantage.

· Strong mechanical or electrical background. With 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment post apprenticeship.

· Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health and Safety.

· Experience with planned preventative maintenance.

· Experienced in fault finding and problem solving.

· Good level of electrical cross skilling.

· Flexible hands on approach.

· Trades/Diploma qualifications.

· Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
